„Sounds of The Golding Institute” is a compilation of three previously-released 7” records - Sounds Of The American Fast Food Restaurants (1994), Sounds Of The San Francisco Adult Bookstores (1997) and Sounds Of The International Airport Restrooms (1998). The material, recorded by Gregg Turkington, and narrated by Ryan Kerr, Simone Don, and Turkington himself, is combined with educational spoken word to create a unique audio documentation of those locales, as they were in the 1990s.
This first-time-on-CD release is packed in a neat clamshell box, along with an 8pp booklet with liner notes by Anil Prasad, reprints of the original 7” sleeves, and additional trinkets, including a commemorative pin, salt and pepper packets, a toothpick, a sanitary napkin, disinfecting wipe, and a toilet seat cover. The package also contains a ziplock bag and sticker, intended to be used to preserve this time capsule release in a safe place (in the walls, or buried in the earth), so that it may be found 100 years from now by future generations who may be curious about authentic soundscapes from adult bookstores, fast food restaurants, and airport restrooms.
Audio for this release was transferred from original reel-to-reel tapes and cassettes, and remastered by Kris Poulin. Artwork was done by Karina Kalinska. This is an edition of 300 pcs.
