Instant Classic and Blue Colander present VoidWhisperer - Raphael Rogiński's limited edition signature effect pedal. Coming in 3 different graphic designs (all created by Dagna Wrażeń), VoidWhisperer is a germanium fuzz based on Baldwin Burns Buzzaround, a mid 60s British gem known for its biting attack, plentiful textured sustain and full yet tight tonal range.

VoidWhisperer is designed to follow sound qualities of the originals, with a couple of additions and a few minor changes. It's a surprisingly versatile design for such an old school circuit, with extremely wide range from clean booster, thru crushing distortion to blown-out fuzz. Overall character is bright and raw, greatly accompanying player’s technique and instrument’s flavor, thanks to carefully selected NOS Polish germanium transistors and diodes.

Unlike in vintage Buzzarounds, transistor’s bias is set firm and not affected by any potentiometer. Volume knob here is a standard master volume control. Fuzz knob is actually input gain control allowing to reach more open, overdrive-like sounds when turned down. Timbre knob offers the same tonal range of classic Buzzaround, sweeping from stinging treble to full bass, but potentiometer taper is different (logarithm vs linear) to focus on the bright sounds before it starts to boost volume. Both toggle switches down position provides standard Buzzaround setup. Headroom middle position reduces compression (increases headroom) for extra volume and less 'buzzing’ distortion flavor. Headroom up position additionally changes transistor bias for softer character, what’s especially favorable in low gain settings. Range middle position reduces overall gain to reach snappy overdrive response. Range up position provides even more destructive fuzz than down position, also keeping overall heft and only brightening fuzz character when fuzz knob is turned down (momentary volume cut out and audible pops are normal when changing toggle position).

It uses 9 volts DC center-negative regulated power supply only (standard 2.1x5.5mm barrel). Pedal's power input is protected against reverse polarity and uses PNP transistors with internal polarity inverter - it’s possible to daisy-chain it and other pedals with the same power supply, but it is strongly recommended to use high quality isolated transformer-based power supply to maintain operation free of noise. Current draw is below 10mA. Only 12 copies made (10 are officially distributed).
